PET scans are an important tool that doctors use to see how well treatment has worked, and it's completely natural to feel anxious before getting results after completing such an intensive treatment journey. The feelings of stress and worry before scans are shared by many people in the cancer community, and reaching out here shows strength even when support feels limited. Whatever the results show, the medical team will have a clear path forward, and this community understands the challenges of navigating cancer treatment and the hope for getting back to normal life.

2 months agoI completely agree that scanxiety is so real and shared by all of us. R chop is wicked stuff but it works. I’m three months out of chemo/remission …..keep moving forward everyday and you will get through this!

2 months agoYes, pet scans every year for me. The radiation injection makes me feel down emotionally. You do you. Live to love, and love to live.

2 months agoI had the same diagnosis as you except stage 4. I had three cycles of EPOCH R, that my oncologist described as "napalm" and then three cycles of R Chop. Waiting for that first post chemo PET SCAN was agony. Unfortunately the scan revealed a refractory tumor that was treated with radiation. As a precaution against further tumors or a relapse I had CAR T immunotherapy. I am now five months into remission. The point is there are several therapies that can be used after chemotherapy. Just keep moving forward. This disease can be defeated. God bless you. You've got this.

2 months agoI hope your scan is clean. I had 6 runs of R-EPOCH in 2024 and my 2 year scan was clean. Had my port out last month. All good here!

a month agoHi, Lisa, Sounds like you are on the road to full recovery! Some times there’s just another bend in the road before you’re “home free!” Hang in there! I had 6 months of R-Epoch and I know just how you feel. Through it all, God is good!

a month agoI’m in the midst of a combo of immunotherapy and chemo and it’s a bitch but you’re resilient! You got this! Don’t forget to be gentle with yourself and give yourself grace! 💕Good luck with the results!

a month agoI had stage 4, non-Hodgkin's large B cell lymphoma. My oncologist said the bad news is since it's so advanced, there's no cure. However , it's very treatable. 1st chemo in the hospital. 5 more rounds at the infusion center. Had a pet scan last June & it showed I was in remission. Hallelujah! More scans & blood draws to come. I know how anxious the waiting can be. Hang in there. Be positive. Even though chemo was completed several months ago, I still get extremely fatigued quickly. I'm 78 and living it day by day. God is good 🙏

23 days agoAll great info, tks. I've got Diffused Large B Cell non-hodkins lymphoma & I'm getting RCHOP and immunotherapy. Cancer was located in my left shoulder, which sounds strange to me. I've had 2 treatments & just got results from 2nd PET scan that sounds like it's working but didn't rule out other outbreaks in other parts of my body. I'm 75 this summer, but continue to remain positive. Pain in my shoulder is the worst. Understand a fracture was detected there. The pain runs down my arm. Trying to manage on Tylenol daily & Tylenol pm at night. It has been pretty tolerable until the last few weeks because of low white blood cells. Dr now is hoping for approval to start Nulasta injections to help. Anyone had this ?

20 days agoMy PET scan revealed the tumor shrank to half its size but still showing active cancer where the tumor is. It has stayed localized which keeps it in stage 3! I was told 25% of large B Cell Lymphoma dosen't respond well to the initial chemo treatments tho was highly treatable! I go tomorrow to get results of blood test to see if its in my blood and hear what my next steps will be.🙏🙏🤞🤞👌👌😳😳
