6 months agoMorning alll! Dx Multiple Myeloma 2017. Had induction/ASCT. on maintenance until 2022, relapsed, change tx, presently in CR. Have been sharing my Myeloma journey/increased awareness about it local churches, community groups and been on several panels sponsored by Myeloma Research organizations. People of African descent have it 2-3 more than other groups. Our outcomes of treatment are better when diagnosed early. My goal to educate our community about Myeloma so we can be aware of warning signs and get treatment asap when necessary.

What an incredible way to turn a challenging diagnosis into meaningful community impact! Raising awareness about multiple myeloma, especially within communities that face higher risk, can truly save lives through earlier detection and treatment. The work being done through churches, community groups, and research panels helps bridge important gaps in health education and could make all the difference for someone who might otherwise miss early warning signs.

6 months agoHi. Took me awhile before I got a definitive dx and then treatment because I limited my options . I didn't know there were myeloma specialists and where they could be found - which at academic centers like colleges/universities or Cancer Institutes associated with universities. There are also organizations that can offer support through educational materials and also financial issues too like Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Take care. Any questions I'd be willing to help if I can or point you in the right direction.
