I'm dealing with some tough digestive issues right now, including severe diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal pain, along with really bad fatigue. I'm not currently on active cancer treatment, but these symptoms are really affecting my daily life. My AI response suggested I contact my oncology team right away to get these symptoms properly evaluated. I'd love to hear from others who have experienced similar digestive problems during their cancer journey. • Have you dealt with severe GI symptoms when you weren't on active treatment? What was that experience like for you? • What helped you manage these kinds of symptoms day to day?

Digestive issues during and between cancer treatments are unfortunately quite common, and reaching out to your oncology team about these symptoms is definitely the right approach. Many community members have found that keeping a symptom diary, staying hydrated, and working with their healthcare team to identify triggers can be helpful strategies for managing GI challenges. The combination of symptoms you're describing can significantly impact quality of life, so getting proper medical evaluation is important for finding the right management approach for your specific situation.

I know the feeling, certain foods, I can't digest and avoid it next time, but you don't know until it hits you

I am undergoing palliative treatment with Enhertu for bladder cancer. Two years ago I had the standard cisplan regimine along with pelvic radiation and bladder resection. I then had Opdivo for autoimmune therapy. When that allowed some spread outside the original area (metastatic) I had 5 sessions of SBRT Radiation and now Enhertu infusions every three weeks. After about 1 week post transfusion and for about a week to ten days, I experience stomach cramping, nausea and diarrhea off and on. I have been prescribed Compazine for vomiting, Zofran for related issues and finally, dexamethasone. To get ahead of the problem, my team has me coming in one week post Enhertu for IV fluids and anti nausea and diarrhea medication. This is an experiment. Sure hope it works! Good luck!

I agree, it could be a very serious health issue if you don't contact your doctor or if have an oncologist talk to them
