a day agoI was recently diagnosed with stage II bladder cancer and learned about my main treatment options. My doctor mentioned three approaches: bladder removal surgery (cystectomy), trimodal therapy that combines tumor removal with radiation and chemotherapy to preserve the bladder, and radiation therapy alone. I'm trying to understand what each path might look like and would love to hear from others who have faced similar decisions. • If you had stage II bladder cancer, which treatment approach did you choose and what was your experience like? • What factors helped you decide between bladder-preserving options versus surgery, and what do you wish you had known when making that choice?

a day agoThese are significant treatment decisions, and it's completely understandable to want to hear from others who have walked this path. Each approach has different benefits and considerations - surgery offers definitive treatment but involves major life changes, while bladder-preserving options like trimodal therapy can maintain quality of life but may require ongoing monitoring. The community here has valuable insights about factors like recovery experiences, long-term outcomes, and questions worth discussing with your medical team to help guide your decision.
