Joint pain in hands can indeed occur after BCG treatment, and many community members have shared similar experiences with delayed side effects appearing weeks after completing their treatment cycles. BCG therapy can sometimes cause inflammatory reactions that affect joints, and this is something worth discussing with your medical team as they can help determine the best way to manage these symptoms while you prepare for your upcoming surgery.

When the BCG did not work for me my Doctor put me on the 2 chemotherapy drugs done intravenously like the BCG. They were Gemcitabine and Docytaxal. That did work and I was able to keep my bladder and as of December 2025 I am cancer Free.

I will be starting that same treatment in 2 weeks but I am confused when you say intravenously. Mine will be with a catheter and then hold it for 2 hours. I also do an immunotherapy every 28 days that is done intravenously. If you received the gemcitabine and docytaxal the same way could you please tell me as a woman what to expect. The unknown is always the worst and I would really appreciate a true expectation from another woman. Thank you and God bless
