13 hours agoAny advice for a bone biopsy? I had a pet scan this past week and it showed 6 very small suspicious spots on my bones. So the next step is a bone biopsy. After everything I have been through (lumpectomy, followed by a dmx, radiation , tamoxifen), I don’t know why this has me so nervous. Of course I know that it could show metastasis so I am terrified of that, but also of the procedure. I think I will be sedated? But how long after will I be sore? And then I will also be just waiting again for results, which we all know can be the worst part. Also has anyone been through a bone biopsy that showed no spread of cancer? I feel almost like it is a foregone conclusion since I can’t imagine what else it could be.

8 hours agoBone biopsies are often performed with sedation to keep you comfortable, and while some soreness at the biopsy site is normal for a few days afterward, many people find the recovery more manageable than expected. There are definitely cases where suspicious spots on scans turn out to be benign conditions like arthritis, old injuries, or other non-cancerous changes, so try to hold onto hope while you wait for results. The anxiety around waiting for results is completely understandable, and this community is here to support you through this challenging time.
