Why do I need another biopsy after my lumpectomy surgery?

I am furious! I had my lumpectomy in November 2025. I just had another MRI because the pathology report showed two was collected and not three. So I just had my MRI yesterday and was informed that I had to do a biopsy and everything else all over again and possibly surgery. I am so angry I can't think straight. Any thoughts?

This situation sounds incredibly frustrating and overwhelming, especially when you're already dealing with so much. Additional biopsies after lumpectomy can happen when pathology results need clarification or when imaging shows areas that require further evaluation. While this adds stress to an already difficult journey, these follow-up procedures help ensure the most complete and accurate treatment plan. The emotions you're experiencing are completely valid - many others in this community have faced similar unexpected turns in their treatment path and understand how exhausting it can be.

I can relate to your frustration The Doctors DO NOT always have the right answers or solutions! I found that out really quickly That I had to advocate for myself!! I had to do the research and weigh out what the doctors are saying and recommending and what I read to what was best for me because I had a few bad experiences with the doctors throughout my journey. You are not alone and your feelings are valid Sending you clarity and strength and hopefully you can advocate for yourself we are not a number we are not just a name on oncology papers and it’s frustrating when our doctors are supposed to know what’s best for our health yet they make mistakes and it’s hard to give them grace when it’s our lives in their hands! Praying for you 🫶

The only thing you can do is to get the biopsy. I’d be livid, but I’d want to know. I’m so sorry this happened to you
