Taking breaks is so important when dealing with the physical and emotional challenges that come with a breast cancer journey. Many in this community understand how exhausting it can be, and giving yourself permission to rest and step back when needed shows real self-awareness and strength.

Gemmz, I know how you feel, physically I have cancer metastasized to my bones. My vertebrae, right arm, hips, pelvic bones, left lung and lymph nodes areas around my heart. Talk to your doctors, they have things that can help. My pain was not under control until I met with the doctors in palliative care. My care is at Mayo in Minnesota. They were also able to help with the anxiety and what I thought was depression ( it was mourning). For the mental part we added low does gabapentin, and a treatment called A. R.T. I don’t remember what all they stand for but one is accelerated. It is a treatment with a light bar in eye movement that takes away traumatic pain and is a big help with PTSD. Please keep us updated on how you’re doing.

Hello Georgia W thank you for that information and thank you for sharing your story cuz it is rough today got to follow up on my pet scan my treatment is not working with the xgeva, fulvestrant, and verzanio. So I stopped and decided to get a biopsy because I didn't get a biopsy so that was a treatment working around that but I am getting a second opinion at the Dana Farber in Massachusetts. I reside in Maine. Still Standing Tall and optimistic.

Gemmz, I am so happy to hear that you are getting a biopsy so they can figure out exactly what the genetic make up is of your cancer. That is so very important for your treatments. I will be praying for you and remember you are your best advocate. I had to learn that the hard waythere were a lot of mistakes made in my treatment in my surgery. Always have someone with you research what they tell you and make them explain what they’re doing. It’s your body you fight for it.
