I haven’t seen a oncologist yet but I was told I have left side breast invasive lobular carcinoma positive for human receptors and on my right side ducto carcinoma no spread C2 still unsure what any of this means what stage or what type and don’t have a treatment plan yet I see oncologist on Monday.

These are two different types of breast cancer that affect different parts of the breast tissue - invasive lobular carcinoma begins in the milk-producing glands while ductal carcinoma starts in the milk ducts. Waiting for answers about staging and treatment plans can feel overwhelming, but your oncologist appointment on Monday will help clarify these details and create a personalized care plan for your specific situation.

Invasive means it can and will spread & non-invasive has not spread yet but if left untreated, it will. Treatment meaning surgery and or chemo and radiation for the noninvasive cancer and possibly all three for the invasive cancer (chemo, surgery, and radiation). Being positive for hormone receptors usually allows you to take a pill for 5+ years to block estrogen or progesterone because these hormones feed the cancer and make it grow. Be sure to write all your questions down so when you start your journey, you are well informed. Get a support system of family, friends, neighbors, etc. & join a support group. Find women who have gone through this journey & this app is a great resource as well. We are stronger together!
