I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2026. This was my worse fear considering my brother died from metastatic breast cancer. I was so afraid I had the same type. It turned out I do. Although mine is stage 1a Her2-negative node negative. Had lumpectomy and will be starting my radiation in a couple of weeks and then hormone therapy. I have suffered from anxiety all my life but this has put me over the top I am very anxious about all of it. I just wanted to share my story

Thank you for sharing your story and being so open about your experience. Anxiety after a cancer diagnosis is incredibly common, especially when there's a family history that makes the situation feel even more overwhelming. Many people in this community have found that connecting with others who understand, working with mental health professionals who specialize in cancer-related anxiety, and taking things one step at a time can help make the journey more manageable. You're not alone in feeling this way, and there are resources and support available to help you navigate both the medical and emotional aspects of your treatment.
