Many people in this community have shared similar experiences with joint and muscle discomfort while on tamoxifen, so you're definitely not alone in what you're going through. It's really helpful when community members share these experiences since it can provide comfort and practical insights for others who might be dealing with the same side effects.

I have pain in my knees and ankles, but I alternate between taking Move Free and Cosamin ASU supplements daily, and they seem to help. I also take calcium and vitamin D supplements daily.

Hi, Dennie, both supplements are OTC. Cosamin ASU is on the pricier side. I was able to find a good price on Amazon this month, $45 for 230 capsules

Hi, Alexa, Google says that headaches can be a side effect of Glucosamine, but it is usually well tolerated. Google also says you can change the dosage or take it with food to minimize the side effects.

I have constant pain daily. Good up and down is a task. I was just told that I have osteoporosis. My entire right side stays in pain with every movement. I bathe in Epsom salt and green alcohol daily to help. I was a exercise queen now trying to keep my balance trying not to fall.

Muscles and joints are always sore once i started tamoxifen. I found that getting up after resting/sitting is always the hardest. Always being on the move seems to help, though that’s not always feasible lol. Haven’t tried supplements

Honestly I can't do too much in a day. Even going to the store takes so much out of me. I'm on multi vitamins, vitamin d. Going in sun takes everything out of me. I'm required to wear a life alert that's super sensitive. I really feel you. I have a 3 year old grand baby I really miss but she Is too much for me. She gets on my roll-aider she asked granny why you can't play with me anymore . That hurts. Thank you so much for talking to me. I be by myself alone in tears. I miss the energetic me.

Hi Alexa,I am trying so hard to get Hiking Carole back. She (me) disappeared after my partner lost his battle July 2004, and I dived under the covers and stayed there .A routine mammogram showed suspicious calcifications which turned out to be DCIS stage 0 That kicked me back into gear. Still struggling with grief, but the depression is out the door and I just need my energy back. Finished 20 radiations last Wednesday.

Hi Alexa, I started taking Tamoxifen June 06, last week I began experiencing pain in both hips and thighs and wrist. I have to rotate so much at night because the pain is intense. My oncologist told me the main side effects were hot flashes. I have not experienced those yet. I’ve experienced bad headaches while taking it as well. I take it at noon every day, I feel nausea by dinner time and severe fatigue. I’m not sure if I should switch the time I take it.

Hi, Dennie, I take Move Free Advanced Plus MSM and Vitamin D3 with Glucosamine. I alternate every other day, so Mon/Wed/Fri Cosamin ASU and Tue/Thur/Sat Move Free.

I am taking low dose tamoxifen and developed pain in thigh so bad I can’t walk very far or put weight on it for any length of time. This started in May and has not subsided. However the rheumatologist convinced me I need drug for osteopenia and recommended prolia which i took about the same time. This drug can also cause issues so not sure which is causing it
