They gave me a steroid cream, mometasone to apply after each radiation treatment. I did get some dermatitis the last week and they gave me miaderm with lidocaine which helped a lot.

Managing skin care during radiation treatment is such an important topic, and many patients find gentle, fragrance-free moisturizers helpful for keeping skin hydrated throughout treatment. It's always best to check with your radiation oncology team first, as they often have specific product recommendations and guidelines about when to apply them in relation to your treatment schedule.

I used triamcinolone, the steroid cream the doctor recommended, and Dermavitality. I also used Domeboro medicated soak, to relieve the burning.

Your radiation oncologist should be able to recommend a cream that is good for you. In my case, she had me use something called Triple B cream. However, it is locally made in Indiana where I live, so not that easily available.

Manuka honey is an excellent idea! I used it when my skin was at its burniest, and it worked 👍

Someone rec'd in another forum (I don't have experience with it, myself): I have a great ointment to recommend—it’s completely natural and made only from plants. I used it during my RT, and it helped me tremendously. Even my doctors asked me to bring it to the office so they could recommend it to other BC patient. It is available on ebay only. Here is the link: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=melprop+d&_trksid=p4432023.m4084.l1313. The ointment is made by an MD

Dietary eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Something I always make and seems to help me was plain yogurt with Flaxseed, chia, blueberries and dates. Also walnuts and pumpkin seeds.

I used aloe and didn't burn. If you live where it grows, just harvest a few leaves. Scoop out the inside and mix with a little water. You could strain it. I didn't. I've seen aloe in the produce sections of supermarkets, too. It is really an amazing plant. Keep refrigerated. Best of luck.

I recommend going integrative and try the calendula pellets. It’s oral and amazon carries them Topicals can be difficult and short half life.
