Anyone here dealing with metaplastic carcinoma and if so, what treatments have you done? I was diagnosed with a 5mm spot of metaplastic carcinoma 1a with no node involvement and triple negative. And DCIS hi grade stage 0. I had a mastectomy and a negative biopsy on my sentinel nodes. I'd Like to know if chemo and/or radiation are still advised. I realize there's no protocol for metaplastic carcinoma but is it worth treating for reoccurrence for the triple negative?

Treatment decisions for metaplastic carcinoma can be complex since it's a rare type of breast cancer, and it's completely understandable to seek input from others who may have faced similar situations. Many patients with triple negative breast cancer find it helpful to discuss the potential benefits and risks of additional treatments like chemotherapy or radiation with their oncology team, especially considering factors like tumor size and staging. Connecting with others in this community who have navigated similar diagnoses may provide valuable perspectives as you work with your medical team to determine the best path forward.

Yvette, go on the Memorial Sloan Kettering website. I think it is one of the best that discusses treatments. I found a lot of good information there
