Multiple lymph node biopsies are often needed to get a complete picture of whether cancer has spread and to help doctors plan the best treatment approach. The bruising and discomfort from these procedures can definitely be frustrating, especially when facing multiple biopsies. Many people in this community have shared similar experiences with the physical effects of biopsies, and it's completely understandable to want to know why each one is necessary for your specific situation - your medical team should be able to explain how each biopsy fits into your overall treatment plan.

4 months agoI had lump biopsy at the same time as my breast. My breast was bruised for about a week. Didn’t even notice the lymph node area but the biopsy was a little more uncomfortable. I had a second lymph biopsy on the other side a week later ( turns out I also have cll) and it was terrible. It all depends on who is performing the biopsy. Dr. #2 is not coming near me again.

3 months agoLooking for a chat group to discuss triple negative bc. Non metastatic, early, small, clean nodes, lumpectomy and radiation. No meds, to follow. I’m 75. Completed everything about a year ago. Seems like I should be doing something! Thanks, Sue
