a year agoI had lumpectomy 1/15/24 and finished my radiation 3/2/24 and yet my breast remains swollen and on & off pain / heaviness ???
Accepted Answer
Swelling and discomfort after lumpectomy and radiation can persist for several months as your body continues healing from treatment. Many patients experience similar symptoms during their recovery period, and while it can be concerning, this is often part of the normal healing process. It's always best to discuss ongoing symptoms with your medical team to ensure everything is progressing as expected and to explore options for managing any discomfort you're experiencing.

6 months agoI would call the surgeon and make an appointment to see him for a follow-up.

6 months agoMary I agree with Virginia I would definitely have a follow up visit with your surgeon. After my lumpectomy I saw my surgeon like a week or so after and he had to drain my breast due to fluid buildup and boy did that make a world of difference. Went on to have 30 days of radiation with absolutely no problems. God bless and stay strong 💪
