2 years agoLumpectomy 2 weeks ago with lymph node removal. Anyone else experience pain two weeks out. I feel like a baby
Accepted Answer
Pain and discomfort two weeks after surgery is quite common, especially with lymph node removal involved, so you're definitely not being a baby. Recovery timelines vary for everyone, and it's completely normal to still be experiencing discomfort as your body heals. Many others in this community have shared similar experiences, so you're not alone in this journey.

6 months ago6 years past mastectomy and lymph node removal ( 12) and Three years after reconstruction and still experiencing discomfort . Regular bras give me too much pressure under my armpit and sports bra not enough support for the whole day , so my one breast , attached to the muscle , hurts me. However, I am very Grateful to my doctors for the fact that I am alive ( stage 3) and fully functioning , even with aches and pains from hormonal blockers.

6 months agoI did. It’s not being a baby you’re in pain. I’m in chemotherapy now. I lost all my energy and I am so tired and depressed. I feel so depressed. Every one says you’ll be ok. But inside I feel so bad. We all go through this I guess. We have to stay strong. Some days worse than others.

6 months agoMy pain started week 3- which when I developed radiation burn… when I called surgeon for burn care - then she told me it’s common to develop problems starting week 3…. They could have said that. But now 4/5 weeks after- I still experience shooting pain to nipple- NOT FUN

6 months agoYes, I'm not sure why information like they is not given. I have pain and soreness (albeit very minimal) but it weeks have been nice to have been told that soreness will happen "x" amount of time.. . Mine is post 4 months and I have minor soreness when I stretch. Instead of having to worry to whole time until the next appointment went doing doctor just tell you this can happen?

6 months agoBreast treatment is barbaric. I can’t believe they can’t figure out a better way to detect and treat this . It’s torturous.

6 months ago2weeks is a drop in the bucket. Firstly, be patient & gracious to your self. Do you have a lymphademiology PT person? If not, get one. I was having pain 3 months post mastectomy, where they removed nodes. 2 things to watch for with node removal: lymphedema (low chance) and cording. My pain turned out to be the beginnings of minor cording deep in my pit. 2 months may be too early to begin massage stretching of the area. Action plan, talk to your surgeon about when you can start pt. Get a specific lymph specialist PT. If you are allowed, try some topical arnica product, may just be internal bruising. I use “active: cbd w/arnica & rosemary” no thc so you should be able to get it in most states. I found it reduced bruising and pain quickly. # on the jar 1888 875 hemp It just takes time ❤️🩹

6 months agoJust had mine yesterday. I was told what you're feeling is pretty common. Everyone heals differently. Listen to what your body is telling you.
