7 months agoHi, I'm going for a bilateral mastectomy on May 28th with reconstructive. I'm little nervous but more emotional than ever. Is this norma? I have stage 1.

Feeling emotional before a major surgery like this is completely normal and very common - many people experience a mix of nervousness, sadness, fear, and other emotions as they prepare for such a significant procedure. These feelings are a natural response to facing something life-changing, and it shows you're processing everything in a healthy way. Sharing your experience here can help others who may be going through similar emotions feel less alone in their journey.

6 months agoHi, Debbie, it's normal to be nervous, emotional, scared, sad, etc. before such a big surgery. I had all types of feelings before my mastectomy. In the end, I just felt relieved that the cancer was removed, and I was able to focus my energy on recovery and the next steps. If you haven't already, there are a lot of useful items that you can get off Amazon to help with the recovery process (chest pillow, drain holders, seatbelt protector, clothing with drain pockets, etc). I wish you a speedy recovery!

Check with natara test. Immunotherapy, anastrazole in vitamin D and high levels check your level first. Must find out what trigger this to happen to you. These are just suggestions I'm not a doctor consult with a knowledgeable doctor

6 months agoHi Debbie and Nina, Debbie, it is very normal to have all of those emotions. I've been crying since my diagnosis randomly. I'm petrified of surgery coming June 12th. My emotions are all over the place. I was 4 years in remission and just got diagnosed again on March 31st. Now I'm getting a mastectomy. But as you say, Debbie, I may feel relieved that it will be gone. I'm hoping that I can focus on my recovery , as you stated. We will be ok. It will be OK. All the best and sending lots of prayers and love.💕
