5 months agoI'm Cat, having chemo treatment, 1st was 19th. I thought I'd be better but mouth pain and fatigue and pain and mood swings are actually getting worse. I highly recommended ice cream for mouth rawness and sores if you don't mind gaining a couple pounds. ๐ Does it get easier before next infusion to give me strength to do this again?

Many people experience varying recovery patterns between treatments, with some finding gradual improvement in the days following infusion while others may notice cumulative effects building up over multiple cycles. The ice cream tip for mouth comfort is something many in the community have found helpful, and it's encouraging to see practical solutions being shared that can make this challenging time a bit more manageable.

5 months agoHi Cat, for me it took almost a week to get get to some normalcy of energy. (Iโll do my 7th of 8 treatments this coming Thursday) the fatigue and mood wear on me the most. I used salt water wash after each meal for the mouth pain, although ice cream sounds better. . Give yourself grace. I was trying to do everything I did before and sometimes you just canโt. On the days I feel good I go go go. ๐โค๏ธ

5 months agoWhat kind of chemo therapy do you have? I'm on Enhertu and just when I feel better the 21 days are up and the next round starts. I too eat ice cream and popsicles, but I don't gain weight, however I have to watch out for mouth sores and the sweet stuff causes mouth sores. It is important for me to take good care of my mouth, I had such bad mouth sores, I couldn't eat and that is really bad ๐.

5 months agoHi my doc recommended salt mixed with baking soda rinses 4 x a day. You can also get a prescription for lidocaine topical oral viscous 2%. You can apply directly to the sores. Fortunately mouth tissue normally heals within 5-7 days

5 months agoI got the script for lidocaine goo and it works! I had all kinds of sores and flaps under my tongue, gross, but lidocaine goo( it's pretty thick and gooey but taste isn't bad) it really works 4x day. I also use salt/ baking soda for my throat. One less thing to worry about! Hey, we can all handle this, we're women. We can handle anything!!! Amen? ๐

5 months agoBut, (still talking๐) diarrhea is a major problem. Even Imodium doesn't help. Not sure what to do about it but wear a pad.

5 months agoHow about fiber, like Metamusil? That can help you. As for mouth sores, I have dexamethasone and RX magic mouthwash, that works for me.
