2 months agoRebuilding confidence after feeling unsatisfied with reconstruction results is a journey that many in this community understand deeply. Consider exploring options like speaking with a plastic surgeon about potential revision procedures, connecting with other survivors who've faced similar challenges, or working with a counselor who specializes in body image after cancer treatment - there are paths forward that can help restore both physical satisfaction and emotional well-being.

a month agoHello Selma I also had to face the decision of whether or not to have a mastectomy I chose less invasive surgery and got a lumpectomy but I remember my doctor saying that if I were to get a double mastectomy that I wouldn’t be able to have my nipples because cancer cells could be in them and that most people get nipples tattooed on that could be an option for you.. I don’t want you to take this wrong but I guess I would be great full that I at least had breast, crooked and nipple less than to not have anything at all also I am in counseling and talking to someone about what I am going through has really helped me I’m still learning to love my “new” self with scars and a new mindset if I were you I’d look into that it really helps Wishing and Praying for you to embrace yourself 🫶

3 days agoHello Semla, please be assured your insurance will pay for your breast reconstruction as long as you need it. Try a plastic surgeon who performs breast reconstruction and is in network with your insurance.
