My journey started 1 year ago with Mammo, biopsy, diagnosis of dcis and invasive.( 2 small areas) Lumpectomy in Jan 2025 and radiation in March/April. Currently taking Anastrozole for last 4 1/2 months. I just had my Mammo and ultrasound and as I was reading the results, I noticed the BiRad category 2 was mentioned. I don’t remember that being mentioned in the past. What is the significance?

BiRads category 2 indicates benign findings, which is reassuring news after breast cancer treatment. This classification means the radiologist found normal tissue or clearly benign changes that don't require immediate follow-up beyond routine screening. Many patients notice different BiRads categories throughout their follow-up care as imaging results can vary based on healing, scar tissue formation, and other post-treatment changes. It's always wise to discuss any questions about your imaging results with your oncology team, as they can provide personalized context about your specific situation and treatment history.
