Curious is anyone has has unusual side effects on letrosole? I’ve has 6 UTIs in the same number of months and Urogynechologist suggested Letrosole may be the problem 🤷‍♀️. Add this to poor sleep and aching body and quality of life definitely a challenge. Does anyone have suggestions for easing any or all of these annoyances?

Many community members have shared experiences with various side effects from letrozole, and it sounds like these symptoms are really impacting daily life. The connection between hormone therapies and urinary tract changes is something that comes up in discussions here, though it's great that a specialist is helping to evaluate the possible link. These challenging side effects can definitely affect overall well-being, and it's encouraging to see you reaching out to others who might have found helpful strategies for managing similar symptoms.

Letrozole was my best after trying all the other meds with so many unbearable side effects. I think it just depends on the person. Try another if you can. Also check out products by Uqora for UTIs. They have one called Defend that helps the bladder. My daughter uses it and it’s great!

Letrozole is a good option, but you have to exercise during tratment; try walking few Km every day, twice a week strength classes, strech. Sleep is indeed a main issue; I am taking it for 4 years already and sleep is still a problem. Be patient, as other issues could be present also as side effects; I never experience UTI

Yes I got 5 UTI’s from November to March. My gynecologist got permission from oncologist to prescribe vaginal estradiol which I used twice a week at first and now use about once every 10 days. So far so good

Yes! I got 4 UTI’s within 6 months. Oncologist recommended against estradiol vag cream which I had been using prior to diagnosis with much success because it could counteract the Letrozole . Estrogen is what this type of cancer needs to grow. I have not had a UTI since July 1 and here’s my solution. 1)Vaginal suppository or gel with hyalauronic acid every night 2) probiotics 3) cranberry juice daily 4) 10 glasses of water per day (this gel is with other dryness issues too) 5) squeeze bottle with warm water while and after pooping. ( when I travel I have wipes ) I use products from a company called Good Clean Love recommended by GYN Good luck!!!

Awesome info…thank you. My oncologist gave ok for the estrogen cream and many of your suggestions along with D-Mannose (4 a day)…my late husband had bladder cancer and the toilet seat bidet installed for him is VERY comforting with warm water! So far…no UTIs. Many of mine were in foreign countries with strange antibiotics, so next trip will require toting a portable pharmacy just in case!!! Thanks again for responding.
