17 days agoHas anyone tried effoxor to manage side effects from their medication? Im on kisqali, anastrozole, and trelstar. My hormones are out of control and at least a week out of the month Im crying, anxious, or mad. The hot flashes are tolerable most of the times but some days they are just completely horrible.

17 days agoManaging hormone-related side effects from cancer treatments can be incredibly challenging, and many people in the community have found different approaches helpful for similar symptoms. While some have shared positive experiences with antidepressants for mood and hot flash management, it's definitely worth discussing all your options with your oncology team since they know your complete treatment plan best. Hopefully others here will share their experiences to help you feel less alone in dealing with these tough side effects.

16 days agoEveryone is different and we respond differently. I was on effexor for hot flashes it worked for a while. The dose was increased due to anxiety it worked for awhile. Eventually hot flashes came back anxiety improved but side effects if you missed a dose were not pleasant. Came off of it and doing okay.

16 days agoI asked my oncologist to be referred to integrative oncology. I will be receiving acupuncture for hot flashes, anxiety, etc. I will also have one on one yoga/meditation sessions to help with side effects. Do your research and use all resources available to you. I would rather try these methods first and not take yet another medication.

9 days agoI was put on Effexor at night to manage hot flashes from letrozole. It has helped! An added benefit is that it is an antidepressant which probably isn’t a bad thing when going through breast cancer.)

6 days agoI took Effexor for hot flashes and it didn't seem to help. Trying to quit the drug nearly ruined me. The withdrawal symptoms are horrible! If you have to quit, don't go cold turkey! Ask your primary for a taper schedule.
