How do I manage vaginal stenosis and urine retention during cervical cancer treatment?

Hi I've been diagnosed with cervical cancer, and invasive squamous cells to the vagina and vulva. They can't tell what stage it is because it's diffused. 5 rounds of Chemo, 28 days radiation, then brachytherapy and immunotherapy for two years. It feels aggressive based on many women who are stage 4. In addition I have serious vaginal stenocious. 2 weeks in radiation I had urine retention ended up in ER and now have a supra pubic catheter for indefinite period of time. Has anyone experienced these symptoms? Thanks for your input

Hi my name's Elizabeth I was diagnosed with stage 4a cervical cancer in 2022 I completed radiation, chemotherapy and 2 rounds of brachytherapy and haven't been the same since. Does anyone else have almost constant intestinal problems? I wish they would have told me about how severe the atrophy could be!

How do you cope with cervical cancer complications at 45 with a young child?

My name is Tricia. I was diagnosed with 3b cervical cancer in December 22 2025. I had a colposcopy on Halloween, and all they found was cin 2 and 3 cells. It wasn't until my kidney gave me issues that they found a tumor high up on my cervix. Not even detectable through a normal pap. It compressed my ureter and a stint failed, so I have a nephrostomy tube on my left kidney. The tumor was pushing against my bladder, and after my second cycle, it opened a fistula. I have pre chemo tomorrow where we discuss if I'm getting a nephrostomy tube on the right side. My oncologist had already mentioned that a fistula would be unfixable, and I'd probably have neph tubes for life. Im only 45. I'm very upset about all this. I should be halfway done with chemo on Thursday. I have a 6 year old daughter, and I am fighting as hard as I can for her. I try not to think of all the " what ifs" and focus on the goal, which is to get through this as fast as possible. I have 5 weeks of radiation, then brachy radiation. I'm already tired.

What to expect with stage 4 cervical cancer treatment and recovery?

Hey I’m Colleen. I just found out I have stage 4 cervical cancer and it’s in my spine. I found out on Super Bowl Sunday. February 8,2026. I had surgery on February 10,2026 to remove a mass on my spine and a vertebrae. The cancer is in my cervix and my spine. I came home from hospital on February 14,2026. Waited two weeks and then started radiation therapy. I had three radiation treatments and then on my fourth day I started having restless leg syndrome. From a muscle relaxer I was on. Had to reschedule my radiation treatment. On February 27,2026 I had my port put in for chemotherapy. Still had restless leg when I had my port placed. The restless leg was around for five days. On Monday February 2,3, I finished my radiation. Now I’m waiting to start chemotherapy on March 17,18,19, 2026. Then I’m off for 21 days. Right now I’m looking at 6 months of chemotherapy. But at three months I will have a scan to check if my mass has shrunk any. I’m Praying that I’ll be healed. We had to move fast for my surgery because of almost paralyzed me. My left leg was already hurting so bad I had to drag it in the hospital. The doctors said that my cancer is Very Rare and Unique. They don’t see this type of cancer much. Sending Prayers and Love to everyone. 💕🙏

My name is Jeri and was diagnosed with stage 1B cervical cancer. I completed 2 months radiation treatment, including brachytherapy. My post Pet scan showed No evidence of disease. I was happy b then the next CT scan showed small lung nodules (9mm and 4mm). I’m very frightened. The doctor wanted to wait 3 months to give me another CT scan. Anyone else have it spread to lungs?

my name is amie im going through chemo.. carbo/taxol/ atezizolubam.. no avastin due to having fistulas form from previous radiation.. this is my third battle with this..i ended up with a diversonal loop illeostomy, and bilateral nephrostomy tubes.. i recently had metallic stents pur in but one kidney is still having issues.. this has been the hardest thing i have had to go through. im going to do my 5 treatment, had pet scan after my 3 treatment and my body is responding good.. my doctor seemed pleased with it.. reading the stories here gives me alot of hope.. they say i have poorly differential hpv positive carcinoma originally thought I had andecarcanoma.. anyway the treatment has not been easy. originally 6 treatment and evaluate.. maybe 3 more, but honestly i don't want to do korye
