Why am I waiting for treatment when cancer symptoms are so severe?

The wait for treatment can feel especially difficult when symptoms are affecting daily life so significantly. Many cancer care teams carefully time treatment decisions based on multiple factors including disease progression, overall health status, and individual circumstances that may not always be immediately apparent to patients. I was diagnosed in Oct with few symptoms, however, I have TP53 mutation and that scares me as much as anything. Prognosis is poor. It's really hard to stay positive. On a pelvic scan, there were cysts on my overies and a "large mass" on my left side. I've had surgery and recovering now. Everything was benign so I'm grateful for that, but now looking forward to a colonoscopy. If it's not one thing it's another.
