4 days agoHello everyone...I was supposed to have a hip replacement on June 4th but instead, I have recently been diagnosed with CML and just started Gleevec 2 days ago. So far I've been drinking a lot of water and staying active but since last night around 8pm my chest has been unusually tight and feels weird. I do suffer from anxiety attacks and it kinda feels like that but a little different. Last night I took a Xanax and it helped a little bit and made me sleepy but I still only got 4 hours of sleep. Woke up this morning and the chest tightness is still there. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

4 days agoStarting a new medication can bring unexpected side effects that feel concerning, especially when dealing with a recent cancer diagnosis. Many patients experience chest tightness or discomfort when beginning treatment, and it's completely understandable to feel worried about these new sensations. Please reach out to your healthcare team right away to discuss what you're experiencing - they can help determine if this is a known side effect or if it needs immediate attention, and connecting with others here who have similar treatment experiences may also provide helpful insights.
