What reconstruction options did you choose after mastectomy?

I had a mastectomy in July 2022 and I'm looking into my reconstruction options. I came across some information about the different approaches available, including natural tissue flaps and implant-based reconstruction, plus refinement procedures like nipple reconstruction and tattooing that can complete the process. There seem to be so many choices - from DIEP flaps to different implant placements to non-surgical options. Are there clinical trials for cancer patients with pneumonitis?

I need some help/advice. I started my treatment back in December for HR negative HER2 Positive IDC. After 9 weeks into my first round of 12 weekly chemo with Herceptin I was diagnosed with chemo induced pneumonitis. Immediately all cancer treatment was stopped and I have been told because of the extensive damage to my lungs, which has landed me in hospital for the better part of the last two months, I will never be able to receive any cancer treatment again. Does anyone know of any clinical trials that will work with someone who has been diagnosed with pneumonitis/ILD to treat their cancer? As of now, I’ve basically been given a choice to either die from my lung toxicity, or from my cancer.

How do I know if I qualify for shorter HER2+ immunotherapy trials?

Hello everyone I was diagnosed with HER2+ Invasive ductal carcinoma stage 1 In Nov 2025. Did 3 months of chemo weekly with immunotherapy Every 3 weeks. Had positive response to both.. Lympectomy 3 weeks ago. No active cancer cells left and some tumors completely gone just markers left. 🙏🏻 There is a trial for immunotherapy drug I’m on called. “short stop” which cut treatments down to 6,treatments vs 12 .. awaiting info to see if I get in. 🙏🏻 I had a 100% complete clinical response To my treatment which allows me to apply … fyi

I have estrogen positive stage 2 breast cancer. I am 7 wks out of being done with chemotherapy. Then I get a break to heal, then surgery, then radiation, then hormone blocker therapy for 5 yrs. My emotions and what not are all over the place. There are days I feel fine and days I just want to sleep. I am exhausted and tired of this. I find myself crying and asking myself why me? Right now I am depressed.... I don't want this at all. I want to be done with everything and start to feel normal again.

Should I choose Kadcyla or Enhertu after residual HER2+ breast cancer?

I had lumpectomy surgery two weeks ago to move residual metaplastic carcinoma from my breast. Clear margins were achieved. My original diagnosis was stage 2B and included two types of carcinoma, DCIS and ER/PR negative HER2 positive. Ten lymph nodes were removed, one of them was cancerous. I went through 6 cycles of TCHP and I’m now facing 15 rounds of radiation. Because there was residual cancer present at the time if surgery, an additional course of 14 rounds of either KADCYLA or Enhertu is being recommended. Enhertu has a great success rate for metastatic breast cancer, which I don’t have and comes with very serious warnings. It has recently been used for patients who have residual HER+ cancer in their tumors. I am having a difficult time making this decision. The KADCYLA would reduce my risk of it coming back in 5 years to 11%, but the Enhertu would take the risk down to about 5.5%. I had a difficult time on TCHP and I can’t imagine going through another 14 rounds of any type of chemo. Interested in anyone’s experience with either of these drugs.
