3 years agoI have an oncologist who only sees patients once a week and spends the rest of his time doing research. He wants me to participate in a research trial he is overseeing. It only involves monthly blood draws to look for circulating tumor cells. I can’t think of any reason not to participate. Thoughts?

6 months agoIf that’s all it involves and the doctor has someone who can draw blood well ( that would be me, as I’m a hard stick), I’d do it.

6 months agoI also wouldn't reject that. Who knows, the research might help another woman in a similar situation. My hope is that with all the research being done, a cure be found sooner than later

6 months agoI am doing similar study. My blood draws are every 3 months. It looks for circulating cancer cells developing in DNA.

6 months agoI also would do it. I wonder how you get into the trial?

6 months agoDo you know what the requirements are for the trial? I was told with stage 1 they couldn’t accurately test for circulating tumor cells. Is this for more advanced stages?
