Facing Triple Negative Breast Cancer and Treatment Concerns

I have been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. It's also in several lymph nodes. My oncologist recommended the Red Devil trial treatment. I know I shouldn't read up on it , but I did, and boy, what nasty side effects. As of now, I'm not feeling sick at all. The cancer was found at my yearly mammogram. The heart damage side effect scares me the most. Going through pre testing of everything before starting treatment.

It's completely understandable to feel overwhelmed when facing treatment decisions, especially when researching potential side effects. Many people in this community have found it helpful to write down their concerns and discuss them openly with their oncology team during pre-testing appointments. The medical team can provide personalized information about monitoring protocols and ways to manage potential effects based on your specific health profile.

Hello Lillian, I was also diagnosed with triple negative genetic, which means they recommend removal of both breast. I did. I had surgery on March 28 2025. I was given red devil, which was not bad for me.What has been hard for me is immunotherapy and after surgery. It has been hard fatigue, and I wasn't able to eat trouble sleeping, no strength, anxiety. So do worry your self ever body is different what may be hard for others may be easy for you.Just don't lose faith.Just remember your not alone there are other women fighting to get thur this we are all together. Joining non-profit for cancer, like links for life have zoom meeting it is a very good to talk to other and hear there story and what they have gone thur and what worked for them.Keep strong you can get thur this 🙏💐🩷

I had four red devils at the end of the keynote 522 chemo protocol. It wasn’t that bad. It was the lowest my blood count got and I didn’t feel great but it wasn’t that bad. I recovered.

Hello Lillian, I was diagnosed with TNB 2023, I had 4 txs with "Red Devil," and the treatments weren't as bad as I expected, but I lost all of my hair, the worst for me was when I lost my eyelashes and brows and my sense of taste. But all returned after the treatments. That God. I was left with peripheral neuropathy, but it's being managed as well. Keep the faith, surround yourself with positive people, don't be afraid to talk to your doctors and support staff about your concerns, it will make a world of difference. May God continue to bless you during your journey 🙏

Hi Shirley, How is your neuropathy being managed? Mine is also chemo induced. I hate it! Before my cancer, I was very healthy, and now I feel I will never be at my best again.

Hi Lillian, I'm sorry to hear about that. I was diagnosed with triple negative almost 4 years ago. I don't remember what my treat was, really. I know I was put on two different ones, and they almost killed me. But everyone is different. I've noticed that everyone has different experiences. This forum is amazing! We can what everyone has been through. I'm pretty new here, and I'm so very grateful that I found you all 🙏🎀❤️

Good morning, Lillian I hope all is well considered that if you find yourself in this space. I’m not a doctor. I’m not a nurse. I am a 10 year cancer survivor. Who was diagnosed in 2015 with triple negative Breast Cancer. Never thought I would make it to 10 years. The red devil is part of the standard of care. No one came out, but to be very honest it’s not as bad as it’s made out to be if you do everything within your power get fluid exercise when you can even if it’s just a walk even if it’s just a walk in your house you can get through it.

I did 4 treatments of the red devil and after the second treatment I didn't think I'd go back but I did . Hair fell out. I tried to put it in a ponytail 🤣🤣. Then had friend shave it off and wore a ball cap. Which I didn't mind too much. After those 4 treatments , I did 12 of 14 infusions which were a walk in the park after red devil. Haven't had menstrual cycle since that second treatment either. Already had 1 son and just wanted to be here for him. I had pounding headache and bone pain until I smoked some herb . 2 puffs and head stopped pounding. I was stoned but it did it. Didn't smoke anymore after that time ( 2nd) treatment . Be positive and please don't wait for treatment. It sucks but I am here 10 years later with triple neg breast cancer. My recurrence is not tri neg so ... Good luck !
