COLON, SUBTOTAL COLECTOMY: - ADENOCARCINOMA, MODERATELY-DIFFERENTIATED. - NEGATIVE PROXIMAL, DISTAL AND MESENTERIC SURGICAL RESECTION MARGINS. - TWENTY ONE LYMPH NODES NEGATIVE FOR METASTATIC CARCINOMA (0/21). - REPEAT MSI TESTING RESULTS WILL BE REPORTED IN AN ADDENDUM. - SEE MICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION FOR FULL SYNOPTIC REPORT.

25 days agoFinding adenocarcinoma at the abdominal wall margin after colon surgery can be concerning, but it's encouraging to see that all other surgical margins were clear and none of the 21 lymph nodes showed cancer spread. This is definitely something to discuss thoroughly with the oncology team, as they can explain what this specific finding means for the treatment plan and next steps.
