My name is Susan and I am due to have targeted radiation in combination with a chemo pill to be taken twice a day 1/2 hour after eating 12 hours a part. My question, not being someone who has eaten breakfast in decades, is how much do I need to eat? Will be starting on Tuesday- I am very nervous and so emotional since I received my diagnosis. Stage 2 A colon cancer with tumor close to sphincter So many people supportive but none of them have dealt with cancer Thank you for any helpful advice

For the food requirement before taking chemo pills, a light snack or small meal is typically sufficient - something like toast with peanut butter, yogurt with fruit, or crackers with cheese can help protect your stomach from irritation. Starting treatment can feel overwhelming, especially when it requires changes to daily routines, and it's completely understandable to feel nervous about beginning this journey. The supportive community here includes many people who have navigated similar treatments and schedule adjustments, and your medical team can provide specific guidance about meal timing and portion sizes that work best with your particular medication.
