4 months agoIs there any validity to using ice packs on the hands and feet to help with neuropathy? I've only seen this on some YouTube channels so I don't know how to take it.
Accepted Answer
Cold therapy can provide temporary relief for some people with neuropathy symptoms, though responses vary from person to person and it's important to discuss any new treatments with your healthcare team first. Many find that gentle temperature therapies, whether cold or warm, can help manage discomfort, but what works best often depends on individual factors and the underlying cause of the neuropathy.

4 months agoIf you already have the neuropathy I can't see how it would help, but it's supposed to help keep neuropathy from occurring during chemo and after. I did cryotherapy and still got terrible neuropathy in feet and hands. Maybe it would have been worse if I hadn't done the cryo I don't know. It was worth trying g though if it lessened the severity. What I have is awful but I can live with it.

3 months agoAgree with most-I’ve got both neuropathy and cold sensitivity-more acute after completing my 6th chemo session. No way I could handle the cold….it’d be like shooting needles and numbness thru my hands and up my arms….good luck….

2 months agoHi ... Neuropathy definitely is worse when you touch cold or frozen objects. The first week of each 2 week session is the worst for me... I even have neuropathy and tingling in my finger tips at times during the first week ---i am in my last week of FOLFOX chemo. And I also don't drink anything cold the first week and I make sure the faucet water is warm before washing my hands. If you do have to get anything out of the refrigerator or freezer, make sure you use oven mitts or hot pads. Mary Jane
