Living with the Fear of Cancer Recurrence

I was diagnosed with colon cancer 2 years ago. I consider myself lucky since I have been cleared from this aggressive cancer (stage 2a) since my surgery. I get 2 CAT scans a year with blood work. I will be having my 2nd colonoscopy since my surgery soon. I am always concerned that it will come back.

Fear of recurrence is one of the most common and understandable concerns for cancer survivors, and many people in this community share similar worries about follow-up appointments and scans. It sounds like you're staying on top of your monitoring schedule, which is an important part of survivorship care, and connecting with others who understand this unique anxiety can be really helpful during this time.

I had stage two diagnosed on March 5th 2024 with perforated colon. Have been NED since. Scans and blood work every 3months now live with ileostomy and always concerned it will return. 🤞🏻

Salvador my recovery was not long. Surgery was Aug 25th. I went on my first hike on October 15th. It was about a 5 mile hike. I did a little walking everyday about a week after my surgery when I got the ok from my surgeon

That is good news. I had stage 4 cecum cancer. So far there has been no evidence of metastasis.
