3 months agoWhat do you do when you lose your taste? I can't taste anything hardly. Makes it so hard to eat .

3 months agoLoss of taste can make eating feel like a real challenge, and it's completely understandable how frustrating this must be. Many people in cancer treatment experience taste changes that can affect their appetite and nutrition. Consider focusing on foods with interesting textures, temperatures, or aromas that might still be appealing, and don't hesitate to discuss this with your healthcare team as they may have specific strategies or treatments that could help restore your taste over time.

3 months agoHi Gloria. I completely understand what you're going through. I lost my taste when. I was going through treatment too. Almost Everything tasted like cardboard. There were a few things that tasted OK and I tried to focus on those kinds of flavors. And when I found something that I could eat I ate a lot of it even if it meant eating oatmeal for all my meals. Don't feel like you have to stick to your traditional meals. Sometimes I just had to force myself to eat and it was a chore. But consider it part of your treatment. You just have to get through it. Good luck and know there is an end eventually. My taste would start to came back every time I was off my treatment for more than a week and quickly returned after my treatment was finished. Good luck.

3 months agoI would also suggest mixing unflavored protien powder in everything you can. I used orgain brand and would even mix it with my coffee or juice. Worked great in oatmeal yogurt and applesauce too.

2 months agoI struggle with this myself. I've found that soups or any really moist hot food does well. I eat a lot of soups and stews. Usually I struggle with the meat in them , but the meaty broths do well for me and the veggies go down well. My oncologist says that every meal, no matter the size, is a win. They are calories and nutrients that will help.
