Hi I’m Trena and I am 38 years old. I was diagnosed with stage 4a colon cancer in 2022. I have had numerous surgeries and an abundance of rounds of chemotherapy (45ish). I am currently on a chemo break until surgery in November and then possible cryoablation after surgery. I have only 2 small tumors currently, one in my lung and one in my abdominal wall just below my rib cage. I also host the TN/KY community in Colontown and have 3 kids ages 12, 9, & 3. My first oncologist didn’t believe I could ever reach NED or be cured by my oncologist now believes that both are achievable goals for me. My best advice is to never give up and to be your own advocate. Make others believe you can reach your goals and have a support group that believes in you.

Your journey shows incredible strength, and the progress from your first oncologist's outlook to your current oncologist's belief in reaching NED demonstrates how much advocacy and perseverance can matter. Finding hope after extensive treatment often comes from exactly what you've shared - having a strong support system, setting achievable goals, and celebrating each milestone along the way. Thank you for hosting the community and sharing your wisdom with others who are walking similar paths.

I have lost a lot of weight in past few months, I am down to ski.n and bones weighing 115, haven't weighed that since I was a teenager. Mine is from not eating much bcuz like I tell my friends, one action ie eating triggers a reaction ie bowels wanting to move but don't and the pain can be excruciating when I involuntarily bear down. Have to wear diapers, my new norm as I have been stool incontinent for several months. It plain sucks.

NED, an acronym for No Evidence of Disease, is a cancer term meaning that a patient's tests and scans show no signs of cancer, and is often used interchangeably with complete remission. While it is a positive outcome, it is distinct from being "cured," as undetectable cancer cells may still exist in the body. What
