Cancer doesn't happen because someone deserves it - it's a disease that can affect anyone regardless of their actions or character. This community understands that struggle and is here to offer support as you navigate this difficult journey together.

I have accepted my colon cancer. I had to be gentle with myself. Accidents happen and I have bad days and good days. I am trying to stay positive.

Don't think any of us have done anything to get our diagnosis

My chemo will finally be starting soon as soon as Insurance approves it, first will be FOLFOX which I know nothing about and a capsule. I ad my DNA done about four years ago and the main drug in FOLFOX can cause serious toxicity with initial dose cut by 50% then watched closely for toxicity and reduced doses in subsequent dosing. Sent an email to my oncologist office in Monday after I found it on the list but haven't heard from him yet. I wrote a column for Pain News Network titled Shame on Me because it is my fault I didn't do Cologuard or a colonoscopy and I don't want people to make same dumb excuses I did. I became an advocate in the pain community in 2017. If anyone is interested let me know and I will provide the link
