Cancer doesn't happen because someone deserves it - it's a disease that can affect anyone regardless of their actions or character. This community understands that struggle and is here to offer support as you navigate this difficult journey together.

a month agoI have accepted my colon cancer. I had to be gentle with myself. Accidents happen and I have bad days and good days. I am trying to stay positive.

19 days agoMy chemo will finally be starting soon as soon as Insurance approves it, first will be FOLFOX which I know nothing about and a capsule. I ad my DNA done about four years ago and the main drug in FOLFOX can cause serious toxicity with initial dose cut by 50% then watched closely for toxicity and reduced doses in subsequent dosing. Sent an email to my oncologist office in Monday after I found it on the list but haven't heard from him yet. I wrote a column for Pain News Network titled Shame on Me because it is my fault I didn't do Cologuard or a colonoscopy and I don't want people to make same dumb excuses I did. I became an advocate in the pain community in 2017. If anyone is interested let me know and I will provide the link
