Receiving a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming, and it's completely natural to be searching for ways to navigate this new chapter. Many people in this community have found that connecting with others who understand, focusing on one day at a time, and building a strong support team including healthcare providers, family, and friends can make a meaningful difference in coping with the journey ahead.

a month agoHi viola, finding these horrible news is overwhelming, but don’t overthink too much, I was diagnosed in June 8, I have done 7 rounds of chemo, I have stomy bag, on nov,i go for a colonoscopy to see if I’m ready for surgery, all of these has happened within the last four months, my advice don’t try to think about the future take it one day at a time, leave everything to the doctors, trust them and everything will work out. When I found out about my cancer I thought my life was over, but after talking to my doctors and changing my way of thinking and changing my diet my life has improved a lot. I was down to 110pounds, was feeling so sick, but doing all these changes helped me a lot. I’m up to my regular weight 165 pounds, I feel great I go for walks and I do light workout, and meditation. Just follow the doctors advice, and look for support, I go to gildas club, look for cancer companions, these two organizations are great for emotional support. Going through cancer is an experience that nobody should go through it, but some of us were the lucky ones, so don’t try to do it alone there’s a lot of support out there, I didn’t know any of these groups existed, but once I got sick I looked for anything that would help me. Also as I go through a cancer battle I lost my wife on August 17, I felt so overwhelmed and thought that my live was over, but with all the help of these support groups I have been able to go on with my life. Have faith , pray, and get close to god as much as you can, everything is going to work out.
