2 months agoHi everyone, my journey is fairly new, I was diagnosed the end of August with stage three colon cancer. I had a colon resection on September 8 and began chemo on October 1, having a lot of digestive problems, trying to work through them, not looking forward to the next six months of chemo treatments.

Many community members have found gentle dietary adjustments and working closely with their care team helpful in managing these symptoms. 2 months agoHi Larry. Your journey sounds very similar to mine, just a year difference. I had a lot of rare side effects during my treatment and a lot of it was related to digestion. Turns out the 5fu turned my pancreas off and then I ended up with small bowel toxicity from the 5fu. My suggestion is if they can't figure out why you have non-stop diahrea and suggest you have a bowel infection tell them it's chemo induced toxicity! It almost did me in. I lost 25% of my body weight an spent 2 weeks in hospital on IV nutrition. It wasn't fun. Good luck with your journey.
