4 months agoAnyone stage 1a, with small tumor ? Less than 4mm? what was your treatment ?
Accepted Answer
Treatment plans for stage 1a breast cancer can vary quite a bit depending on several factors beyond just tumor size, including hormone receptor status, overall health, and individual patient preferences. Many community members here have shared their experiences with early-stage HER2+ breast cancer, and it would be wonderful to hear from others who've been in a similar situation to offer their perspectives and support.

4 months agoHi Sharon. Thanks for being a part of our community. Hopefully someone with a similar diagnosis responds soon but in the meantime I encourage you to explore the Treatment tab in the app and learn about the possible therapies you may be offered based on your specific diagnosis you provided when you were going through the registration process. You also always have access to our oncology nurses through the Ask Outcomes4Me box located at the bottom of the home screen of the app. Messages submitted there go directly to one of our nurses who will respond 1:1. Sorry you are going through this but please know we are all here to support you. 💛 Suzanne (Community Moderator)

4 months agoI am stage 1. My tumor was 2 cm and pretty much contained. I would have been fine with the lumpceptamy and the savvi radiation. Unfortunately, they discovered that I had the HER2nu, which makes my situation aggressive, so I had to continue with 12 sessions of chemo and 18 sessions of Herceptine and after that medication. Hope I was able to help.

5 days agoJust finished 16 fractions/days of radiation plus 4 additional boost to the tumor area. I was originally diagnosed with DCIS ER+ but during the intial lumpectomy a 1 mm HR-/HER2+tumor was discovered. Then had a re-excision to get wider margins and also a sentinel node biopsy. Since the tumor was less than 5 mm and sentinel lymph node was clear, only radiation was recommended after lumpectomy. From the initial discovery of the DCIS to my last day of radiation was about 6 months. For my skin, I skipped the aquaphor and did coconut oil and mometasome steroid cream instead at the advice of my radiation oncologist. Treatment varies widely and I don’t know anyone that is going through the exact same thing.
