2 months agoI also had Taxol with Herceptin followed by radiation for my HER2. I was given something to keep my tummy calm and had no problems with nausea. I pre-made light meals. Other than additional fatigue, the expected hair loss and nail issues, etc, the treatment wasn’t a problem. Good luck!!

2 months agoStarting treatment can feel overwhelming, but many community members have shared positive experiences with this combination therapy. The first infusion often goes smoother than expected, and the medical team will monitor closely to ensure comfort throughout the process. Cold capping can be very effective for many patients, and it sounds like you're well-prepared for this next step in your treatment journey.

2 months agoI completely agree that the first infusion often goes much better than we anticipate - and don't hesitate to let your care team know if you need anything during the process, they're really there to make you as comfortable as possible! 💕

2 months agoI also had taxol with herseptin and tolerated both well. I did not need radiation because I had a double mastectomy and no lymph node involvement. I felt better if I ate and had no nausea. Lost my hair and had nail issues. I’m 2 years post surgery and hair grew back after treatment ended. Stay strong and good luck!

a month agoYou and I are basically the same!!! I started in September with too much chemo. Had a lumpectomy after hating my first oncologists methods. I just got my 2nd weekly treatment of Taxol and Herceptin and 10 to go. It has been such a rocky road of trusting after my first bad experience, but I am so happy with the low weekly dose. How are you doing? Is the cold cap bearable?

a month agoI started the sane day you did, on the 8th. I live in Kansas, I am 46, single with a 13 year old son at home. You? I have felt so alone through the past 6 months even with people around. I lost all my hair from a single round of chemo back in September but its growing back. It hasn't started falling out again yet, but like you, I feel ok with it

a month agoI was very fortunate with taxol and Herceptin no nausea or fatigue no problems with eating or diarrhea just neuropathy in my feet and fingers, just numbness no pain. I didn't lose all of my hair until about the 9th treatment. I didn't want to shave it and I wore a cap to bed in case my hair fell out overnight. And wore a head scarf until I eventually just pulled it out. They gave me pre meds Tylenol, Benadryl a steroid and something for acid reflux. They worked really good. I had 3 weeks of radiation and the only bad thing about that was the fatigue afterwards for a couple weeks. I now do Herceptin every third week and take Anastrozole every day

24 days agoI'm the same as all of you. I had my lumpectomy on Jan 9, but I won't be starting chemo until late March. Because my tumor was so small, with no signs of any spread, my oncologist said I'll be getting a low dose of Taxol. The only side effect she warned about was neuropathy. Hearing your stories is encouraging.

24 days agoTwo weeks ago I finished my 12 rounds of Taxol & the Phesgo every 3 weeks in my thigh. I just had an MRI prior to seeing my surgeon and the tumor has disappeared!!! My oncologist, and surgeon were very pleased. I still have some side effects from the chemo, but I know it will get better with time. I’m scheduled for a lumpectomy & some lymph nodes removed on February 24 followed by one month, every day, of radiation then I will be on tamoxifen for five years. Although the HER2+, 3 what is frightening, I feel much better that these drugs have worked!! Research has been concentrating on HER2+. I am confident that there will be more effective drugs and even a test to track where & what the HER 2+ is doing!! Please have faith and I wish you well.
