a year agoHi! Triple positive here with node involvement. Received 6 TCHP and completed lumpectomy and a sentinel node dissection. One of the 5 nodes was positive. I will continue with Kadylcia now but surgeon has left it upto me to decide if I follow standard of care and go back in for an axillary dissection or if I leave it as is. She said there wouldn’t be a benefit to the axillary dissection and she wouldn’t do it. Anyone have any advice or experiences with this?

This decision between you and your surgeon shows how treatment plans can be personalized based on individual circumstances. Many patients in similar situations have found it helpful to discuss the potential benefits and risks with their medical team, and some choose to seek a second opinion when facing this type of decision. The community here has valuable experiences to share about navigating treatment choices after positive sentinel nodes. Consider asking specific questions about what factors influenced others' decisions or how they approached similar conversations with their surgical teams.
