Hi I need some help please I just started my radiation this week ,5 days of radiation to the left breast and yesterday when I got home I started to see floaters like a black smoke has anyone else experienced this and what did you use.I have already called my Radiation oncologist and he doesn't think its related to radiation but I do didn't have this problem before and I would appreciate if anyone would tell me what they used I have read that radiation can cause the floaters, cobweb, smoke light floaters in eye. Thank anyone for what you have used if this has happened to you .

It's understandable to be concerned about new symptoms starting during radiation treatment, especially when they seem connected in timing. While radiation to the breast area typically doesn't directly affect the eyes, any new visual changes like floaters or black smoke-like vision should definitely be evaluated by an eye doctor or your medical team promptly to rule out other causes. Many community members find it helpful to keep a symptom diary and advocate for thorough follow-up when something feels different, so hopefully others here can share their experiences with similar concerns.

I would definitely go see a specialist for eye support. Find the best one you know or know of and get it in worst case scenario you can get cataract surgery, which is what it sounds like might be happening? That happened to me during my treatment as well… I don’t know if it was from the treatment or just a genetic predisposition!?I went in I failed the eye test… Which is required… And then I got in for lens replacement! Best thing I ever did! You can win this.

Thank you for responding and I have seen a specialist she said I have posterior visterous detachment with some hemorrhage behind the eye .I know there are things related to getting older with the eyes but I have had floaters for maybe a day usually one that might appear on the wall and they go away never something like this but she wants to see me again two weeks ,I have never had floaters everyday like i started seeing this month .I am sure i might need surgery soon.
