a month agoI am considering Enhertu next . Wondering the side effects of this infusion, every 3 weeks. I live alone. Janet

a month agoLiving alone while on treatment can bring up important practical considerations, and it's great that you're thinking ahead about managing potential side effects. Many community members have shared experiences with Enhertu and found helpful strategies for managing treatment while maintaining independence. Consider discussing with your care team about what specific side effects to watch for and creating a support plan, even if it's just having someone to check in with regularly during treatment cycles.

a month agoEvery patient reacts differently, it is basically trial and error. My oncologist has great results with Enhertu in a number of patients. When I tried it, it did not work - I was sick the entire time, could not keep down any food, lost all hair etc. We tried to adjust the dosis, but it did not help, I had to stop. Next we tried Kadcyla with great results, hardly any side effects. After a year, cancer was dormant. On a break now from all treatment (I am stage 4). In conclusion: you need to try what your body responds to and what not. Don't be discouraged, there are many great options out there. It just depends which you individually can tolerate. Good luck.

23 days ago@Astrid thanks for sharing as I am starting Kadcyla this Friday and aware that everyone reacts differently but delighted to hear your positive experience and let’s hope it remains dormant. 🙏

16 days agoHi. Janet. I am her2 triple positive stage 4. Currently on Enhertu every 3 weeks since December and in remission since June. The side effects for me have been very minimal. Some body aches, fatigue, I think it is effecting my appetite, I really have no interest in eating, I have to force myself to eat and also remember to eat. I can go all day and then remember, oh I didn't eat . But the appetite thing really has been a constant since I started treatment in September of 2023. Good luck with your treatments. Stay strong. Remember to keep busy and active. Laugh with friends and accept help that is offered.

5 days agoI'm estrogen positive and HER2 positive just did 2nd round of chemo. First round wasn't too bad I was able to watch my 7 month old granddaughter during the week but after this 2nd round I've been sick ever other day with diarrhea. I have to force myself to eat because everything tastes like metal nothing tastes good except spicy food but then I get heartburn so bad I can't sleep rest or get comfortable. I can only tolerate water because even drinks with flavor taste awful. My hair is almost all gone. I cut it above my shoulders so I can still wear a cap. I do have a wig also. After chemo treatments I get sores inside my mouth and my face breaks out. My Dr prescribed mouth numbing rinse and hydrocortisone cream for my face. Everyday I wake up is a new adventure I never know how I'm going to feel until my feet hit the floor and after I walk down the hall. Mornings are usually rough but get better as the day goes on. Personally I can't drive for the first week after chemo treatments the medication makes me feel uneasy. These are my symptoms hopefully others are less. 🙏
