9 months agoI am concerned that my Herceptin caused/ contributed to my heart attack a week ago! My coronary arteries are clear, my cholesterol/ lipids perfectly normal. My only symptom was what I thought was severe back pain which I attributed to heartburn. Anyone else have cardiac issues?

That sounds incredibly scary and concerning, especially when heart issues happen unexpectedly. Many people in this community have shared experiences with cardiac side effects from various HER2+ treatments, so you're definitely not alone in having these worries. It's really important to discuss these concerns directly with your oncology team and cardiologist, as they can best evaluate whether there might be a connection and help you understand your specific situation. Has your medical team been able to provide any insights about what might have caused your heart attack?

8 months agoTara, I haven't started treatment yet, but this is one of the drugs we plan on using. This concerns me greatly because I have already had a double cardic bypass, and the Dr. suggesting this chemical knows this.

8 months agoI haven’t started treatment yet, should be on the 20th and heart issues are a concern to me. What made you consider it was a heart attack from just the back pain? I’m concerned I will miss a symptom of a heart attack because women don’t present heart attack symptoms as men do.

8 months agoIt took years, but I developed a leaky heart valve from it. My cardiologist said it’s very common in all people. Mine is not bad enough for meds or surgery

8 months agoDid they do an echocardiogram test? That’s recommended for Herceptin before and every 3 months after treatment.
