2 years agoI recently had a lumpectomy and breast reduction. Iam currently on hormone blocker . Chemo was not recommended because of my low ontotype score of 16. They have recommended radiation but I think I may not participate in it. I have clear margins, no cancer present in lymph nodes and tissue removed

This is such an important decision that deserves careful consideration with your medical team. Many patients face similar questions about treatment options after surgery, especially when pathology results show positive factors like clear margins and negative lymph nodes. The medical community continues to study which patients benefit most from radiation therapy, and oncologists consider many individual factors when making recommendations. Consider discussing your concerns and questions thoroughly with your radiation oncologist - they can explain the specific benefits and risks based on your unique situation and help you make the most informed decision for your care.

6 months agoErin. Why not? Radiation is a piece of cake compared to chemo.
