What's it like having hormone therapy plus HER2-targeted treatment?

I have hormone-positive and HER2-positive breast cancer. My oncologist mentioned that hormone therapy combined with HER2-targeted therapy might be a first-line treatment option for me. From what I understand, this approach combines endocrine therapy that blocks hormones with HER2-targeted drugs that specifically target the HER2 protein on cancer cells. There may also be bone therapy included to protect bones. I'd love to connect with others who have a similar diagnosis and hear about your experiences with this type of combination treatment. • What has your experience been like with hormone therapy plus HER2-targeted therapy? • What helped you manage day-to-day life during this treatment, and what do you wish you had known going in?

This combination approach is used for many patients with hormone-positive, HER2-positive breast cancer, and connecting with others who share this specific diagnosis can provide valuable insights about managing treatment side effects and daily routines. The community here has members who understand the unique aspects of dual-targeted therapy, so hopefully you'll hear from people who can share practical tips about what worked for them during treatment.

I am HER-2 + and ER + and PR- I am on targeted TDM1 therapy, I was also suggested yo start Tamoxifen same time but I declined and opted for sequencing- will start Tamoxifen after completing my immunotherapy. Research indicates doing both same time is counterproductive. You may want to research this. Best wishes

Other professional guidelines and evidence suggest the combination is not recommended due to lack of supporting data for T-DM1 as monotherapy alongside tamoxifen and potential for increased toxicity without proven benefit.
