a year agoHas anyone tried cold capping on Taxol? If so, does it work?
Accepted Answer
Cold capping can be helpful for some people during taxol treatments, though results vary from person to person. Many community members have shared their experiences with scalp cooling during chemotherapy, so hopefully others here will chime in with their insights about what worked for them.

6 months agoIt worked for me. I hardly lost any hair. It’s very important to follow all the hair care instructions for at least 6 months after chemo is finished. No chemicals, heat, stress on the follicles.

6 months agoI did! Have to care for your hair gently! I didn’t start shedding til I was done w taxol. Shed for about 6 weeks. Probably lost 35-40% of hair. But no bald spots, just shedding. One year later hair is thicker than before!

6 months agoWorked for me too. Some shedding, mostly around my ears, but no bald spots and came back in well post treatment.

6 months agoI did Penguin cold capping with 12 weeks of Taxol (I was only able to tolerate 8 of 12) and Herceptin for 52 weeks. I shed a LOT of hair starting around week 5, yet I am not bald nor have any bald spots. My hair is just very, very thin all over. So I consider this a success. No one would ever know I had chemo unless they looked very closely at my scalp.

6 months agoAnyone tried Biotin or B7 to strengthen hair follicles?

6 months agoI have tried Biotin but Cold Pressed Castor Oil made it thicker. Some spots remain bald. Does anyone have a remedy for this?
