4 months agoI’m on maintenance herceptin and perjeta every 3 weeks. I’ve been NED since Feb 2025….lately I’ve been having major insomnia issues. Anyone else? I haven’t slept for weeks…this has never been a problem for me before until a few weeks ago. I’ve tried everything: dark room, cool room, no caffeine, no light/tv/screens at least an hour prior to bed, relaxation techniques….absolutely nothing works for me to get at substantial sleep. I’m running on 3 hours of sleep a day somehow. Plus 4 kids at home to take care of. Advice?

Sleep disruption can be a challenging side effect that some patients experience with these treatments, and managing it while caring for four children sounds incredibly difficult. Many community members have found it helpful to discuss persistent sleep issues with their oncology team, as they may have additional strategies or can review whether any adjustments might help. Hopefully others here will share what has worked for them during treatment.

4 months agoUgh Melinda this sounds like torture. Have you talked to your team about maybe trying a sleep medicine for a few weeks. Our bodies have all been through so much and I think sometimes a little help like this can be a game changer. I know a lot of people are very hesitant to take another drug when having to take so much for treatment but it might be worth it short term. Praying things get easier for you. 4 kids is no joke and we need to get you back to feeling more like you! Glad you’re here. 💛 Suzanne (Community Moderator)

2 months agoI had insomnia ..severe. Tried sooo many things. Don’t laugh but driving 6-9 hours makes me sleep like a baby! Sleepy time tea works off and on. So did Trazodone 50 mg yet not consistently. Tried a compounded drug 4.5 mg naltrexone did help but ?$5.00 a pill. I didn’t try to get it from any place else though and if I have to go back on anything I will be using that good luck!!

a month agoI had insomnia too, still do, in fact. My days and nights were totally backwards during treatment. I struggled to sleep at all usually. I just suffered through it. It’s slowly getting better.
