After lumpectomy and 20 radiations and now 2 months later still can’t even think about meat and the smell of fish makes me gag. Fruit and veg and pasta is all I can handle . Any one else???

Changes in taste and smell after cancer treatment are actually quite common and can be really frustrating to deal with. Many people in the community have shared similar experiences with food aversions following radiation and surgery, so you're definitely not alone in this. It's encouraging that you're able to tolerate fruits, vegetables, and pasta - focusing on what you can eat while your body continues to heal is a good approach, and these changes often improve over time.

Hi Carole, It just depends on the person and how it effects them. Smells have been strong for me at times during my treatment. I love creamy Alfredo with chicken. 🧡 Hang in there. You are strong and will get through this!

I think i lived on melons, fruits , cherries were especially yummy too me and Greek yougart for four months until my sense of smell and taste calmed down and it was fine for me. Even most veggies tasted like dirt or metal for months. There are still some tastes I avoid but I eat what seems good to me.
