8 months agoI am 4 weeks post lumpectomy. Had previous lumpectomy on left breast 12 years ago and only issue I had healing was an allergic reaction to surgical staples. Right breast , current bc, the cancer was located deep below the nipple. Have a 5” incision at 9 o’clock and basically between 6 o’clock and 10. The incision goes into the edge of the nipple. As I heal there are three issues that I have questions for. Did you experience extended hard nipples that went on for hours and was painful? Did you start to get inverted nipples? Did you stretch a bit too high and cause a horrific pain in your breast and restart the painful nipple situation?

Post-lumpectomy healing can bring unexpected challenges, and the symptoms you're describing - extended nipple pain, changes in nipple shape, and sensitivity to movement - are concerns that others in this community have navigated as well. These healing experiences can vary significantly from person to person, even when comparing your own previous surgery, so connecting with others who've had similar procedures near sensitive areas like yours can provide valuable insights and reassurance during recovery.
