Is anyone in here on letrozole? And have you had reconstruction? And are you happy with your reconstruction? I had only one breast removed and I am struggling with which reconstruction to have . I have a C cup in my breast that was not removed, and from my understanding and asking around, if I use the expand er it will just be a small mound. The plastic surgeon is talking about taking my belly fat and reconstructing a new breast ,then lifting my C cup that remains

These are really important decisions that many people in this community face, and it sounds like you're carefully weighing your options with your medical team. Reconstruction choices can feel overwhelming, especially when considering how different approaches might work with your remaining breast. Many community members have shared experiences with both expander-based reconstruction and flap procedures, and hearing from others who've been on letrozole during their reconstruction journey might provide helpful perspectives as you make this personal decision.

I had reconstruction with expanders then replaced with implants. That was 7 years ago. Just last month I had them removed. I have been diagnosed with reoccurrence. You need to think about your options. I had DMX but not enough belly fat for 2 breast. If I did I would have gone that route. Best wishes to you on making your decision.

My wife is in letrozole and is starting Kisqali. She had diep flap surgery in November 2022. They take tissue from. Said stomach, inner thighs, and implant it into the breast giving a natural feel that is your own tissue. Her cancer came back in August 2023 and we are now going through medication, and hormone suppression.

I am on letrozole since October 2023. The only real side effect is joint stiffness for me, which is alleviated with 1oz tart cherry juice concentrate mixed with 8 Oz water. (I went through chemical menopause with chemo. I have not experienced more menopausal symptoms since taking letrozole) I am 3 weeks post op from bilateral diep flap. I am feeling really good. Just having tightness in the abdomen from the surgery and limited in what I can do. I will have a revision in a few months. So far, I am very happy with the decision I made. I was rather scared because it is a major surgery and my body has been through a lot (6 rounds of chemo first, mastectomy, radiation). However, the pain was managed very well, and aesthetically I am pleased. I made this choice as I had to have radiation and was told/researched that implants can have complications with radiation. I wish you the best with making a decision that feels right to you.
